- Titanium 27.5" MTB
The Mk2 Titanium 650b is the same great supple frame, but with a few marked improvements.
We've ridden the original Ti650fd for a over a year now, we've listened to riders who also love it,
we've listened to riders who've tested it - and we've listened to what they've said!
SPECIFICATION
GEOMETRY TABLE
The Ti650 is a more nimble ride than the Ti29 - and having slightly smaller wheels and tubes does make it stiffer!
But with the tweeks to the Mk2 it will be a bike you'll love riding even more.
There's no doubting the sublime ride of the Ti650 but the natural compliance of titanium can give too much movement for some
- so we've stiffened it up in a couple of key areas without distracting from the classic style and the lively, fast ride characteristics.
The headtube has been changed - it's machined with external reinforcement, still 44mm top and bottom, but uses an external lower headset cup
to facilitate taper steerers. It can be used with straight 1 1/8" steerers with a reducer crown.
The top tube has had the weld area maximised whilst keeping the classic round profile. The down tube is still a big stiff 45mm but has been subtly
manipulated to increase weld area and improve stiffness.
The bottom bracket area has been stiffened by a subtle down tube manipulation - by making it wider at the BB junction we've improved lateral stiffness.
The chainstays are bigger in diameter, and profiled at the BB to increase tyre and chainring clearance.
Chainring clearance has been optimised to XX1 chain lines. The dropouts are investment cast giving increased weld area whilst being as light as possible.
The sliding dropouts are cnc machined from 6061 alloy and anodised black. Post mount too!
Designed for a 100mm suspension fork, it will also ride racey with an 80mm suspension fork, or super slack on a 120mm fork - or even a rigid fork (455mm length).
Still built from plain gauge Ti-3Al-2.5V tubing, Ti-6Al-4V dropouts.
Available with cowled fixed dropouts or sliding dropouts.
The cowled fixed dropouts keep the weight low on a standard geared (derailleur) setup.
While, sliding dropouts provide maximum versatility - can be run with a derailleur, hub gear or singlespeed.
